coffee, passion

I adore coffee; my kitchen is even tastefully decorated in coffee theme décor. I've been drinking coffee since I was in the 7th grade and have been drinking it ever since. I've definitely grown out of the tons of sugar phase thought, and now appreciate the actual flavor of coffee. I love the aroma when a fresh pot of strong coffee is brewing, it's so comforting. My husband calls it an addiction, I call it a passion.

I was shopping at TJ Maxx about a week ago and as I was browsing the gourmet food section I discovered some coffee syrups. I was so excited because they were even the good brand, Monin. I have not been able to find decent coffee syrup anywhere. I've only been able to find one brand, and it was the most disgusting thing I've ever tasted.  I considered buying this brand online but have always put it off because I don't always drink flavored coffee and I didn’t want to pay shipping on something that I might use.  I’ve always wanted to try the mocha coconut iced coffee at Starbucks but I’m way too cheap to go there, so you can imagine how excited I was to find these syrups.

I've tried many methods of brewing iced coffee and I've decided to stick with the double strength method. I fill the water tank slightly past the 2 mark, and then I add 4 heaping tablespoons of ground coffee.  I let it brew then take it off the burner right away and let it sit for a least an hour at room temperature.

Pretty simple.

When I tasted my home version of mocha coconut iced coffee I felt as though I had died and gone to heaven. It wasn't as good as Starbucks, I'm sure but it was pretty darn good.
