Pumkin Donuts

Autumn is here! I can feel it in the air, the cold nip that hits your nose when you open the door to the outside; I love it! This is my favorite time of year. It's a time where I get to make some hearty, warm,  and comforting foods. Donuts, well, they belong in the comfort food department, especially pumpkin donuts. YUM!

I found a donut pan at Tj Maxx a few weeks ago and I knew I had to buy it. I've always wanted to make donuts but I try not fry too many things. I've had this recipe for Pumpkin donuts sitting around for a while and I knew it was the perfect recipe to break in my donut pan.

Donuts:

1 3/4 cups flour

1 1/2 tsp. baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

1 tsp cinnamon

1/2 tsp nutmeg

1/2 tsp allspice

1 stick butter

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 1/2 tsp vanilla

1 egg

3/4 cup pumpkin

1/2 cup milk.

In a bowl mix all dry ingredients and set aside. In mixing bowl cream together butter and sugar. Add egg, vanilla, and pumpkin. Add dry ingredients  then milk.

Cut the end off a baggie or pastry bag and fill with donut mixture.  Fill donut pan to the top but not overflowing. Bake at 350 for 12 minutes until golden brown. Cool slightly. Brush with melted butter and cinnamon sugar if desired.

These were so yummy! They tasted more like a muffin than donut but they were so good! I will definitely be making them again.
