Think of that Thursday

Hmm, I like post title, it may be a keeper.... Sorry nothing crafty, or cooking for today, I have a few things that I'm working on but haven't finished yet due to my weird work schedule this week, so I will be sharing them next week but don't fret! I do have a tip to share. For those of you that use coconut oil, it will be beneficial.

I try to make everything handmade to avoid all the chemicals but I'm not 100 percent. One of the things I use most is Coconut oil. I love the stuff, I use it for deodorant, toothpaste, moisturizer, cooking, and many other things but the thing that drives me crazy, is in the cold months, coconut oil is has hard as a rock and nearly impossible to get out of the container without chiseling away at it, hurting yourself or bending your spoon (or breaking them) …Okay, maybe I'm exaggerating a little bit, but for those who use coconut oil, you know what I'm talking about.

This morning while trying to get the coconut oil out of the jar to make some toothpaste and I bent my spoon. Frustrated, because it's freezing here, I wasn't sure what I was going to do, then a light bulb went off; Use a cookie scoop!

Ding, Ding, Ding! I don't know why I hadn't thought of it before. The coconut oil came out so easily, and from the scooping, it softened up a bit too which made it easier to mix the baking soda into it. Yay! No more chiseling away, or breaking  any utensils.

  2. I know exactly what you're talking about! I haven't used any in a few months now, but I've been planning to order some more. So I will definitely be using this tip! I had a major "duh" moment when I saw the ice cream scoop :) Thanks for linking up to Throwback Thursday!
