Homemade Garlic and Herb Croutons


 I love salad. What's a salad without croutons? Not much. I love croutons. There is a brand of croutons that I love but don't buy them because I will eat the entire bag…

In one sitting

Without the salad. Drizzled with ranch dressing. Yum!

Not good for me.  So I don't buy them anymore. 



Well, I had some homemade bread that I had taken out of the freezer a few days ago that had gone stale. Well, a light bulb went off and I decided to make crotons. I had just bought some mixed greens at the store so homemade croutons would be the perfect compliment since I don't buy them anymore. Homemade is always better anyway.

These were so good

1/2 loaf of stale homemade bread cubed in 1/2 in squares (or stale French bread)
1/3 cup of olive oil
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp thyme
1/2 tsp parsley
1/2 tsp basil

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

In a large freezer bag combine all the ingredients and shake to combine. Empty out on a parchment lined baking sheet. Place in the oven and toast for about 20 minutes, until golden brown; stirring occasionally.

I figured since they're homemade it's okay to eat the entire batch in one sitting, right? *smile*
