Juice in a Food Processor

I didn't plan on working today but my boss had a unexpected death in the family so a few of us picked up some more hours because she will be out for the week. I'm not very good with sympathy. I'm not very good with any type of conversations for that matter.  I wish I were better and I try but the harder I try, the more awkward I become. I remember, one time I answered the phone at work  and one of our employees husband called to say she would be out for a week because her mother had passed away. Most people would offer condolences  but not me, out of all sentiments available,  stupid me said " Have fun,  Good luck."

OMG! I couldn't believe I said that. I don't even remember what the guy said but he must have thought I was a complete idiot. I apologized and just hung up. I'm not very good with unplanned conversation. I know what to say, but when it comes time to say it out loud, it doesn't come out the right way. Ever.  I tend to put my foot in my mouth every time  I open my mouth so I just usually keep quiet. So when my boss came in for a few hours to get some things done before she had to head out (out of state funeral), I made sure to keep the conversation to a minimum, just to avoid sounding like a moron.

I'm just awkward. Very, very awkward. I try not to be, and I keep trying but it seems to make it worse the harder I try..I guess that's who I am, if only I write instead of conversing in everyday life. I'm much better at writing.  My husband even was ready to give up on me because I kept turning him down with bizarre answers when he tried to ask me out on a date. We laugh about it now. Okay, enough with the embarrassing movements….

I had every intention of sharing a delicious recipe for homemade baked mozzarella sticks, They tasted delicious, however, they didn't look very pretty.  It was basically melted mozzarella, breadcrumbs and seasoning.  So instead I will share my experimentation with making juice in my Food processor

I was just getting into smoothie and juice making when my blender broke. It fell on the floor and smashed into a million pieces. That's one thing bad about glass; it breaks easily. I'm sure you knew that but I felt the need to point it out. *smile* Well, that was last summer and we still haven't replaced it. Well I was craving a homemade juice so I decided to try to make it in the food processor.

I just used what I had on hand. So I'll call this juice, Liquid Salad.

Just take 3 carrots, 3 stalks of celery, and two handfuls of mixed greens sliced up and put in the food processor.  Processor for a few minutes, then add 1 cup of water and process a few more minutes until it's like a really wet chunky paste.

Over a bowl, dump into a mesh strainer and press until all the liquid is out and only a pulp is left. This takes a few minutes. If you have a little one around, they can do this part. Then, just dump the liquid into a cup and enjoy!

I still would prefer a nice blender, perhaps a Vitamix, but this will work until I can afford that luxury.
