Garlic tea!? I know what you're thinking...

*Warning* This post is gonna stink.

*I am not a doctor, nor am I any other type of health professional.  These statements are not approved by the FDA I do not claim to cure anything or any other of that good stuff. I just do what works for my body. Everyone is different. This is just clearly my own opinion.  So consult your physician before forming your own opinion.*

Sorry, I have to put that there, if I mention anything 'natural' just to be safe.

Okay, so yeah. This cold I have will.not.go.away. I thought it was almost gone, then BOOM, the congestion, came back.  I very rarely take over counter stuff, for many reasons, but one is that they always make me feel so off. They don't seem to work for me anyway,  so I am always on the look out for natural remedies to common ailments.  With this NEVER ENDING cold, I decided to take things to the extreme.

Extreme being 4 cloves of garlic.

I'm warning you right now, steer clear of loved ones when you drink this, if you happen to be brave enough. Not many are. My husband thought I was nuts drinking something with 4 cloves of garlic, and kissed me one last time before I drank this foul potion and wished me luck.  Well, foul is what I thought it would taste like but surprisingly it tasted pretty good! It tasted like this Asian chicken I make…minus the chicken of course. I could barely taste the garlic.  I don't know if it will cure it, but it definitely did clear my sinuses. I may stink of garlic and ginger but I can breath!  Hmm, I may have to make another cup later on.

If you're brave enough to chug this stuff, here's how you make it.

4 gloves of garlic, minced
2 inch piece of ginger, peeled and grated
2 cups of boiling water.

Place garlic and ginger in a mug, pour boiling water over it, cover and let steep for 15-20 minutes.  You can strain it if you like, but after 20 minutes it ends up settling to the bottom. Enjoy..well, enjoy may be pushing it *smile*

So now, the only question is….Are you brave enough?

  1. Desperate times call for desperate measures! SO glad it worked for you!! I've heard that garlic can cure all sorts of things. I've been drinking three teaspoons of Bragg's apple cider vinegar per day, so I'm sure this would taste good to me!

Don't be shy! Stop by and say hello!
