Neverending cold & a homemade juice

Never say never. I was talking with one of the managers at work about the never ending sickness that is going around…well, I  guess I shouldn't have boasted about how I never get sick, because…. Whada ya know? Saturday, I came down with a cold.  I was exhausted and so achy just sitting down there. By Sunday, and continuing until today I just have a stuff nose. Jacob was feeling better Sunday running around and being himself, so I decided to send him to school Monday then around noon the nurse called to say he was just exhausted, almost falling asleep at the desk, so I picked him up and kept him home today too, just to be safe. Now my husband is sick…It feels like a never ending cycle.

With all of us sick, I've been putting my blender to good use making some vitamin juices to hopefully kick this colds butt.  Even if they don't work at least they tasted good! My favorite one was Carrot, grapefruit and Ginger.

It sounds like an odd combo, but it was surprisingly tasty.  All you need to do is chop up 3-4 carrots, squeeze the juice of 1 grapefruit into the blender container and add 1/2 inch slice of fresh ginger. Then puree it for a few minutes, strain the pulp out and you've got a healthy homemade juice.

It was so simple…Now, I've got to go strain my chicken broth. This cold doesn't stand a chance.
