Ultimate Grilled Sandwich

Okay, so remember how I said the check engine light came on? Well, John was driving to work when it suddenly shut of. What the heck is up with that? We're still taking it in to get it checked because it's almost due for an oil change. Maybe it was a fluke. Who knows.

I've been doing a ton of cooking. There doesn't seem to be much else to do seeing as we've been having a ton of rain. Rain with humidity. Isn't that nice? Thank goodness we have AC or we'd be eating sandwiches for every meal. Speaking of sandwiches, I actually started to make sandwiches the other day but my husband took over because he though I was being too stingy with the meat. Of course a man would say that. *Smile* A man's gotta have his meat.

Ultimate Grilled Sandwich
makes 1 sandwich

2 slices homemade bread, 1/2 inch thick (or use Italian bread)
3 slices each of, provolone, Swiss, and American cheese
3 slices of ham
3 slices of turkey
3 pickles

On one slice of bread place a slice of each cheese then pile on the turkey. Next add 1 slice of each cheese and top with 3 sandwich slice pickles; add the ham and top with the rest of the cheese. Place the last slice of bread on top.

Turn stove on low heat and generously butter skillet *see note* Cover and cook until cheese starts to melt.  Remove from pan and rebutter skillet. Flip sandwich and cook on other side until done. This sandwich takes about 15 minutes to make but it is so worth it. The secret is cooking it slow.

*If you have a sandwich press you can use that. We don't have one so my husband got creative*

This sandwich is perfect for a man with a hefty appetite. I enjoyed it but I could barely finish it because it was so filling. With the creation of this and because it was so good, John is now responsible for making every grilled sandwich we eat. Mine never come out that good. Maybe it's a patience thing, lol.
