I'm losing track of my days since my hours got cut. I had no idea what day it was today. When we went to finish buying the car today, I realized it was Tuesday. Duh.
Wait. Car? What?? Yup! I bought a car! I'm a researcher when it comes to important things and let me tell you I researched the heck out of this car. Well, I tried to anyway, I know very little about cars, even less about buying them, but I think I did pretty good. John and I looked at a lot, test drove a few, but in the end I went with my gut and purchased a Honda Accord. Yay. This is the first large purchase I have ever made in my lifetime, by myself. It was kind of exciting but so scary too. I've had cars before but others have always done the buying. I was never involved. This time I did all the work. I feel like an adult now, lol. It has been a great learning experience. Scary. But good.
Even though the car is 3 years older than the one we have now, it's much more advanced. The car we have now is the most basic car they make. It doesn't even have electric windows. Yup, I'm still rolling the windows down the "old fashioned" way. This car has everything electric, and it has a sunroof. I feel kind of spoiled, because I've never owned anything that nice before but it was in my price range, and it was in the best condition out of all the used cars we saw. Yay. Tomorrow it should be all set to drive home.
I didn't eat anything today. My nerves were going crazy because I've never spent a large chunk of money all at once, so I was thinking about that all day. I'm not a big spender, so this made me very anxious. I can't imagine how I'm going to feel when it comes to buying a house eventually. I don't even want to think about it.
I made some guacamole the other day that's been sitting in the fridge waiting to be consumed. Well, I didn't have an appetite today thinking about the car, so it sat there a little longer.
It was so simple to make. Here's how to make it,
3 TBS lemon juice
1 small onion, finely chopped (about 1/2 cup)
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp cilantro
1 medium tomato, seeded and chopped.
Salt and pepper to taste
Cut avocados in half, and remove pit. With a spoon, scoop out the flesh and place into a bowl. Immediately add the lemon juice and everything except tomatoes. Using a fork or a knife, mash up the avocado until it is in small chunks, and blend ingredients together. Mix in the tomato.
Serve with corn chips.
Once they pried the check out of the death grip I was holding it on to it with and I knew the car was officially mine, my appetite came back. That guacamole didn't stand a chance. Now that moving, and now the car is out of the way…finding a job with more consistent hours is next on the list.
