About Me Smash Book: Cover Page

Good Monday morning! Sorry for the lack of posting last week. I didn't have much going on which meant I didn't  have much to write so I'm back today. How was everyone's weekend? I hope it was a great one! I worked Saturday, and then Sunday we headed to the apple orchard. It went by slow but it was a great, beautiful day. I love this time of year!

I was also able to fit in some scrapbook time too. I love my new space. I feel so much more creative here than I did in my last place. It's nice putting my stuff to good use and actually recording memories. This page I'm showing today I actually worked on the other day. I haven't finished with what I started Sunday, so that will have to wait until a later date.

This is the cover page for my About Me Smash Book. I printed this photo out a long time ago but never knew what to do with it but once I decided to create an About me Album with this new Smash Book I bought, I knew it would be perfect.

Whenever I make a layout or mention something about myself, I try to add a butterfly somewhere on the page. Why, you ask? Because the name Vanessa means Butterfly. When I'm creating I try to include symbolism of sort into my layouts, whether it be an element, a color, or something else. Sometimes it isn't obvious to anyone other than me, but that's okay. It makes it unique.  Like on this layout (you can check out the post here) I created a while ago.

Because it was a layout about the beach I wanted to find paper that summarized the day. Then main paper is blue and that square in the middle represents the sand, and the ocean. That strip of blue at the top is for the sky, and I chose the pink strip on the side to represent that we stayed until the sun set.

Is there anything that you always add to your art projects or layouts that make them unique? Have a great Monday!
