Oven Dehydrated Apples

I can't believe it's Thursday already. My weeks lately have just been going by so fast. I like it. How has your week been going? I hope it's been going well. If not, I hope next week is a better one for you.

So, the other day I was telling you about dehydrated apples and told you you'd have to wait for that post - well you didn't have to wait too long because that's what I'll be talking about today.

They were so simple and if you don't have a dehydrator, no problem because you can make dehydrated  apples in the oven. Now isn't that convenient?

First you take 4 medium to large sized apples and peel them.

Then you chop them up into little chunks, mine were about 1/4- 1/2 inch. I wasn't really getting technical.

Then toss them with 1 tablespoon of lemon juice so the apples don't turn brown. Then toss with 1/2 tsp of cinnamon. Spread evenly on a parchment lined cookie sheet.

Turn your oven on the lowest setting. I set my oven to 200°. Place cookie sheet and dehydrate them for 4 to 6 hours.  Every hour or you should check on your apples to make sure they're not over cooking and to turn them over.

Once they are done, let cool to room temperature and store in a air tight container.

Now you have delicious dehydrated apples for quick snacking or adding to recipes like muffins or oatmeal. And since this is apple picking season now is the perfect time to make dehydrated apples.
