Seasoned Fries

Hello! How's your Tuesday going so far? I hope it's going well! If not, I'm sorry. Here, this may make you feel better  - *Virtual Hug* Feel better? Okay. Good!

My day is pretty uneventful so far. My bed felt unusually warm and comfortable this morning that I didn't want to get out but of course I needed to start the day. Ever have a day like that? After I drove Jacob to school and had my coffee I was wide awake and ready to go. I wanted to cook something.

I had the plan to make some English muffins or some frozen pizza's but my freezer would not have been able to fit either so I needed to think of something else. That's when I decided to make dehydrated apples. Unfortunately, I won't be sharing that today. :( Sorry, I'm a tease. You'll just have to come back *wink* but, I will be sharing a recipe for Seasoned fries…I'm sure your figured that out by the title of my post, huh?

I went to the store for 1 thing yesterday. You hear that, 1 thing. Can you guess how much I came home with? I can assure you it was more than one thing. I love grocery shopping..seriously.  It's my favorite thing to do. Well, normally I avoid the freezer section but I had an urge to buy chicken patties. I eat very little processed foods, but chicken patties are one of my weaknesses. I hadn't bought them in 2 years so this was a real treat. Since I was making chicken patties for dinner, I couldn't not make French fries. Since the chicken patties were plain, I wanted my fries seasoned.

Seasoned Fries

4 Medium Potatoes
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp. chopped dried onion
1 tsp salt
1 tsp paprika
1/4  tsp. chili powder
Olive oil

Wash potatoes, and peel. Cut into French fries. Let soak in water for at least 30 minutes.  Drain and pat dry. In a freezer bag, combine spices; add potatoes. Drizzle with 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil. Shake the bag like crazy to coat.

Dump onto a large cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake at 400 for 30- 40 minutes or until potatoes are tender and crispy.

Don't they look good? These would taste good with burgers too. Now I just gave you an idea for dinner.

  1. Yum! I usually make roasted red potatoes, but these would be a great alternative. Thank you!

Don't be shy! Stop by and say hello!
