Ramblings and Christmas Decor

This month is flying by. Zooooooommm. Not even just this month, this whole year flew by. I feel like my seven year stroke of bad luck is coming to an end (finally!)  Lots of things happened this year and I feel like it's just the beginning of something good.  We finally got around to setting up the Christmas decorations. Yay!  I don't have a ton of d├ęcor for Christmas but it's nice to have that little bit of Christmas spirit in this place. That's a good thing, because honestly I've been kind of feeling like a scrooge this year. Usually I'm blasting the Christmas music, and doing tons of Christmas baking and crafts, but this year I'm just feeling BLAH.

I love this time of year (usually) and it's the only time I really get people things. I'm not bragging or anything ;) but I'm a good gift giver. Throughout the year I'm always listening to clues as to what each person would like or need. I keep that in my mind until Christmas when I go all out. I don't care about receiving gifts so much as I like giving people things. It makes me happy to give people things they like see the joy on their faces when they open them. This year though, because of Johns drastic pay cut and my sporadic hours we are on a super tight budget. The only person actually getting anything is Jacob. John and I aren't even getting each other anything this year. We have things we want, but we don't need anything. Which, given the situation, Jacob should come first anyway. Everyone else will either be getting homemade (if I know they'll appreciate it) or a plate of cookies or a loaf of bread.  I know those aren't bad gifts, because it's the thought that counts anyway but I like shopping. There's always next year!

A few weeks ago I made some Christmas tags. Not the digital ones I shared with you the other day. I made them using scraps of scrapbook paper I had lying around.

That's all I've got for today. I'm starting my Christmas baking today, so I should have a few recipes to share with you. I know it may be kind of late in blogging world terms but most of the cookies and things I make can be made year round ;)

Have a Fantastic Thursday!
