Tip: How to store homemade bread

Hello!  As you know, from reading this blog, you'd know that I am a huge fan of homemade bread. If you don't, now you know. :) I love making bread, I love the flavor and the texture of homemade bread. I very rarely buy store bought bread now, unless I am in a bind. There is one thing I don't like about homemade bread though is that some weeks we don't end up eating it all before it goes stale and moldy. Being the problem solver that I am, (not math! I stink at math…you've probably read that on here a few times too!) I came up with a solution.

Freeze the bread.

Duh. I don't know why I didn't think of it before. I used to freeze store bought loaves.

Here's what you do:

Once your bread is completely cooled, slice it.

Lay a freezer bag flat on the counter and but 8 slices in it.

Press all the air out and pop in the freezer.

Now, whenever you want a toast or a sandwich, take as many slices as you need and put the rest back into the freezer.

See. Super Simple.

Now, if you make bread you don't have to worry about it going bad before you and your family can eat it all.

Here are two delicious recipes to get you started!

  1. My hubby's the bread maker in our family so I'm going to share this with him. Thank you! :)

Don't be shy! Stop by and say hello!
