Easy Heart Shaped Cherry Pies

Hello! Just a quick post for today!  Are you all ready for Valentines day on Friday? John and I usually go out to dinner or we have a quiet evening in, watching a movie and eating a nice dinner and dessert.  In honor of Valentines day coming up I decided to make a quick and easy dessert for us all to enjoy.

Heart shaped Cherry Pies.

Here's how you make them:

2 cups flour
1 tsp. salt
1 cup cold butter, cubed
1 tbs. cider vinegar
1/2 cup milk
1 can cherry pie filling.

In a food processor pulse together flour, salt and butter until crumbly. Sprinkle with vinegar and add milk. Pulse until dough forms. Split dough in half. Refrigerate on piece while working with the other one.

Roll 1 piece of dough to about 1/4 in thick rectangle. Use a cookie cutter to cut desired shapes. Fill one shape with about 2 tablespoons cherry pie filling. Top with second shape and press together with a fork.

Place on a parchment lined cookie sheet and bake for about 15 minutes or until crust is golden brown.

Serve cold.

These are so simple to make. If you need a last minute dessert to whip up for valentines day, mini pies are the way to go.  You can even use store bought crusts to make them even easier.
