Hello! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend. I know I've been going crazy with serious posts and digital layouts but today I am sharing a recipe. I feel like all I've been doing lately is working (school, work and home) that I decided to take a few minutes to make something simple. The night is kind of cold. I'm rocking my yoga pants, new sweatshirt, and fuzzy slippers. Why not complete the look with a nice cup of hot cider. Mmmm. One of my favorite things.
Fall is here. Sweaters come out. The leaves change color. It's just cozy all around. Not only that, but the fact that the holidays are right around the corner. I LOVE this time year; apple picking, pumpkin picking, all the cozy food that I get to make. It totally crept up on me though. I was listening to the radio and they were talking about The Big E - a huge fair bringing together all of the New England states - and I had to listen twice. I couldn't believe it was THAT time of year already.
September is almost over! Did it not just start? It's time to get in to Fall mode. This cider is the perfect start. Here's how you can make it yourself. You'll need.
6 cups apple cider
2 cinnamon sticks
6 whole cloves
6 whole allspice berries
1 orange peel, cut into strips
1 lemon peel, cut into strips
Pour apple cider into a metal saucepan. In a square of cheese cloth place all other ingredients. Secure with kitchen string and place in the pan. Simmer on medium heat for 10-15 minutes. Discard cheesecloth and serve.
